The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has made a big announcement. They have chosen Mohan Yadav as the new Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. This decision was made after the BJP won the recent state elections.
Mohan Yadav, who is 58 years old, is a leader from the Yadav community, which is a significant group in Madhya Pradesh. Interestingly, the Yadav community isn’t usually seen as the most powerful in the state, but this time they have gained a prominent position.
Yadav was selected as the leader of the BJP’s legislature party, which is a group of all the elected BJP members in the state assembly. His selection came 15 days after the BJP had a big win over the Congress party in the state elections.
Before becoming Chief Minister, Mohan Yadav was the Minister for Higher Education. He’s known for being a dedicated worker for the BJP since 1984. After his selection, he thanked the party and expressed his commitment to fulfill his responsibilities with the support of the state and central leadership.
There’s another interesting part of this news. The BJP, looking ahead to the 2024 Lok Sabha election, has also named two Deputy Chief Ministers – Jagdish Devda and Rajendra Shukla. Both of them have previously held important positions in the state government.
Additionally, Narendra Singh Tomar, a former Union Minister who also contested in the state elections, has been chosen as the next speaker of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the outgoing Chief Minister, played a significant role in nominating Yadav for this position. Chouhan himself has been a very influential leader in Madhya Pradesh, serving as Chief Minister four times.
He offered his congratulations to Yadav, highlighting his confidence in Yadav’s ability to lead the state to new heights of progress and development under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This change in leadership marks an end to the speculation about who would be the next Chief Minister after the BJP’s impressive win in the state elections. The party won 163 out of 230 seats, a strong victory over the Congress party, which won 66 seats.
