Bengaluru Auto Rickshaw Union Launches Their Own Mobile App

The Bengaluru auto rickshaw union has launched their own mobile app named ‘Namma Yatri’ to compete with Ola Cabs & Uber Technologies Inc.

The Karnataka government has banned the services of Ola Cabs, Uber Technologies Inc and Rapido in Bengaluru because of the high complaints of overcharging.

After that Auto Rickshaw Union of Bengaluru has developed their own booking app called ‘Namma Yatri’ so that they can challenge the aggregators like Ola, Uber & Rapido.

The Namma Yatri, an app created by Auto Union, was made possible by their outrage at ride-hailing and unjust labor practices. On November 1st, AUDR intends to release this application.

This application’s goal is to surpass aggregators like Ola and Uber. The Auto Rickshaw Drivers Union (ARDU) will release the app on 1st November.

This app was developed in collaboration with AUDR by the Beckn Foundation, a business in which Nandan Nilekani, a co-founder of Infosys, is an investor.

Cab drivers are reportedly outraged by the increasing fuel prices because the fee paid by the aggregator can reach 30%. difficult working conditions, EMI on their vehicles, and impossibly high goals.

The pricing on the Namma Yatri app will be determined by government taxes, according to AUDR President D. Rudramurthy.

“We will take an additional ₹10 as pick-up fees, he told the media. We also intend to introduce a flat-rate ticket of ₹40 within a 2-kilometer radius between Metro stations and housing or businesses.”

The same idea was also considered by another union, which on Shashtri Jayanti collaborated with a mobility company in Bengaluru to develop a comparable software under the name “ROOK.” But the debut has been postponed for a number of reasons.

Drivers expressed their rage at losing business to expensive ride-hailing applications. When compared to auto rickshaws, these applications cost ₹ 100 for the first two kilometers.
