Bengaluru Ambulance Races Against Time, 14 km In Just 13 Minutes

Here is an amazing & bravery incident that just happened in Bengaluru! An ambulance raced against time to save a little girl’s life. It covered a 14 km distance in just over 13 minutes, carrying a ‘live heart.’ That’s like a movie scene, but it’s real!

Let’s talk about the little girl first. She’s only 7 years old and has been fighting a nasty disease called dilated cardiomyopathy. This condition makes the heart chambers grow larger but thinner, and it’s really bad for the heart. She even lost her sister to the same disease a couple of years ago. Her heart was at a critical 15% of its normal function.

So, the doctors had her on a transplant list since November 2022. And they found a perfect match: the heart of a 14-year-old boy. It’s really sad that he couldn’t make it, but his family showed enormous courage by donating his heart. Huge respect to them; they turned their own tragedy into someone else’s miracle.

The Bengaluru city made a Green Corridor. It’s like a VIP lane for the ambulance. The Bengaluru Traffic Police made sure all roads were clear. No red lights, no traffic jams, nothing! They just zoomed past everything. Big shoutout to the traffic police for doing such a fantastic job!

Okay, so the ‘live heart’ reached the hospital super-fast. A team of expert doctors was ready at Sparsh Hospital! They were Dr. Ashok, Dr. Ashwini Kumar Pasarad, Dr. Madhusudan, Dr. Mathew, Dr. Senthil, and Dr. Jagadish, experts in the field of heart surgery. They performed the transplant and gave the little girl a new shot at life. Hats off to these medical heroes!
