As per reports, the Indian body will contact the South African side to shift the first date of the series by a week while also asking the nation to consider removing one test match from the series of three test match series.
India will be travelling to South Africa and will be taking part in the series which will continue for over one month.
With the current schedule, the series will start from December 17 and the two nations will be playing three test matches against each other along with three One Day International and four T20 Internationals across four cities of the nation–Johannesburg, Centurion, Paarl, and Cape Town.
BCCI stated, “We might request CSA to postpone the series by a week and will then declare the schedule.” Though any official comment on the matter has not come, a top level source has revealed the in-talk communication between the two sides.
One of the leading dailies also asserted that there is a possibility that there will be merely two matches for the est series while for the other two formats, no changes will be made.
BCCI has also acknowledged that they are very well aware how serious international federations are about the tournament and hence it will try to stick to the schedule and go ahead with the series. “We have been talking to the board to get clarity on everything and pretty soon we will have absolute clarity on what is going on. The decision will be taken in one or two day,” said India’s Head Coach Rahul Dravid about the matter.
