Bayer has a new Consumer Health division in India

Bayer, the global life sciences firm announced on Friday that its Consumer Health division is launched in India that includes 10 brands panning across sectors like allergy, dermatology, analgesics and nutrition. These brands include Saridon, Supradyn, Becozym C Forte, Benadon, Alaspan, Canesten and Bayer’s Tonic. 

Bayer added that these products would be manufactured locally in India. “The brands Saridon and Supradyn licensed to Piramal Consumer Products division in the past, have been transitioned back to Bayer’s new Consumer Health business at the end of the licensing agreement term. Piramal will continue to distribute these brands for Bayer Consumer Health in India,” it said. 

Bayer’s Consumer Health Division has set an aim to expand its offerings to everyday health products that can reach over 100 million consumers across India. The division’s modus operandi would be to strengthen the company’s presence in India while assisting its Crop Science and Pharmaceuticals divisions that is already existing in the country. The division would further work on leveraging digital opportunities across the chain to scale up Bayer’s healthcare and personalized solutions.

“By expanding access to safe, convenient, and effective daily health solutions, we will empower consumers to proactively take charge of their own health, which will also help in easing the burden on India’s health systems, thus facilitating the rise of a self-reliant and robust consumer health ecosystem in the country,” he added.

A Self Care Council has also been launched by Bayer in India that would focus on elevating consumer awareness around health and self-care. Bayer further is in plans to launch a “national self-care knowledge” service, a digital platform that will provide uninterrupted access to consumers of reliable and accurate information around self-care.
