Baaghi 3 Box Office Collection: Tiger Shroff-starrer beats Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji to record highest opening collection of 2020

One of the most anticipated films of the year, ‘Baaghi 3’ starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor has finally released yesterday and looks like it has managed to hit the bull’s eye right at the start. According to the latest Box Office India report, the film has managed to register an advance booking of Rs 5.50 crore.

Jagran Entertainment Desk: Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer entertainment-thriller Baaghi 3 has made a brilliant start and has minted Rs 20 crore at the domestic box office on Friday. The movie recorded the highest day 1 earning in the year 2020 to beat the likes of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.

Baaghi 3, which was released in 5,500 screens worldwide, is directed by Ahmed Khan and has Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh in supporting roles. The movie is being is touted as Tiger Shroff’s biggest release.

However, many trade analysts and movie experts had earlier suggested that the coronavirus outbreak in the country could well impact the movie’s box office collection. In wake of the coronavirus scare, the IIFA has also been postponed to contain the spread of the virus.

Talking about Baaghi 3, the movie is the third part of the Baaghi franchise. The first part, which was released in 2016, featured Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor. The second part was released in 2018 and it featured Disha Patani along with Shroff.

Since its release Baaghi 3 has received a mixed response from the public. Movie critic and film analyst Taran Adarsh called the movie an ‘entertainer’, saying it will “roar at box office” and gave it three-and-a-half star.

“Well-packaged mass entertainer that will roar at BO… Action is its USP and Tiger Shroff, the soul, one-man army… Riteish, Shraddha in good form… Another HIT from Sajid Nadiadwala and Ahmed Khan combo,” he said in a tweet.

Baaghi 3’s poster was earlier shared by Tiger Shroff. While announcing his return as ‘Ronnie’, Tiger said had said that “this time he is up against a nation”.

“Against his strongest enemy, His greatest battle, Up against a nation, RONNIE is back!” In the poster, Tiger is seen facing a tank with a rifle in his hand. The subhead to the poster reads “This time he is up against a nation” giving a hint about what Ronnie has to deal with in Baaghi 3,” he had said.

Apart from Tiger Shroff, Riteish Deshmukh and Shraddha Kapoor, Baaghi 3 will also feature Ankita Lokhande, Ashutosh Rana, Satish Kaushik, Akhilendra Mishra, Chunky Pandey, Nora Fatehi and Annu Kapoor.

Meanwhile in an exclusive chat with ETimes, Talking about Baaghi 3’s opening day predictions, senior trade expert Taran Adarsh said that the third instalment is sure to surpass the collections of ‘Baaghi 2’ which had earned Rs 25 crore. “Baaghi is already a known brand and Tiger Shroff is hugely popular among the youth and family as people love to see him. If you see the graph of the previous instalments, then ‘Baaghi 2’ which was released on Good Friday earned around Rs 25 crore and now ‘Baaghi 3’ is sure to surpass that figure,” he added.
