Ayodhya Deepotsav To Make Guinness World Record With 25 Lakh Diyas

The Deepotsav event in Ayodhya is a grand celebration on the eve of Deepawali, one of the most important festivals in Hindu culture. Deepawali, the festival of lights, symbolizes the victory of goodness over evilness.

This year, Ayodhya is preparing for an extraordinary Deepotsav. During this event, a staggering 24.6 lakh earthen lamps, known as diyas, will be lit. These diyas will be arranged across 51 ghats, which are steps leading down to the Saryu River in Ayodhya. 

This illumination of diyas is not just a beautiful sight but also holds a significant purpose. Ayodhya is aiming to set a new Guinness World Record with this massive arrangement. 

Last year, the city set a record by lighting over 21 lakh diyas. This year, they are going even bigger, with the help of around 25,000 volunteers who will participate in lighting these lamps.

To ensure the count of the diyas is accurate and to validate the record, a team from the Guinness Book of World Records will be present at the event. They will use drone cameras to count the diyas. This record attempt is a matter of pride and showcases the rich cultural heritage of Ayodhya and India.

The event is going to be a grand affair with the presence of nearly all cabinet ministers of the Uttar Pradesh government. The Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, will inaugurate the program, which is scheduled to begin at 3 pm. 

Alongside the lighting of diyas, there will be a spectacular laser show. The event also expects the participation of high commissioners and ambassadors from over 50 countries.

For security and smooth conduct of the event, extensive arrangements have been made. The area has been divided into 14 police zones, and artificial intelligence is being used to manage the crowd and traffic effectively.

Deepotsav in Ayodhya is more than just an attempt to set a world record. It is a celebration that brings together people from various walks of life to participate in a festival that has deep spiritual and cultural significance. 

It’s a time when the city of Ayodhya, believed to be the birthplace of Lord Ram, transforms into a stunning spectacle of light, echoing the spirit of Deepawali and showcasing the rich traditions of India.
