Talk Beyond Tweets, Make Audio And Video Calls On X

X, the platform we used to know as Twitter, has introduced audio and video calling features. This is a big step forward in making the app more than just a place for tweeting and reading news. The owner of X, Elon Musk has confirmed this recently.

To use this new feature, you have to turn it on manually. To do this, open the X app and go to the settings. Once you’re there, click on the option that says ‘Privacy and Safety’.

Then, find ‘Direct Messages’ and you’ll see a toggle for ‘Enable audio and video calling’. Turn this on, and you’ll be able to make calls.

The company is also giving us the power to choose who can call us. You can select options like ‘People in your address book’, ‘People you follow’, or even ‘Verified users’. This will help you avoid getting calls from people you don’t want to talk to.

After you’ve done all this, making a call is simple. First, make sure your app is updated. Then, if you want to call someone, open a direct message with them. You’ll see a phone icon at the top right corner. Click it, and you can start a voice or video call.

Elon Musk had announced this feature about two months ago. Since he took charge, he’s been adding many new features to make the platform more useful. This new calling feature is part of his plans to make X a complete app that offers more than just tweets.

This new feature is helpful for X users. Now, you don’t have to switch apps to call someone you’re chatting with on X. Everything can be done in one place. It’s like getting a phone inside your X app. 

Plus, it’s safe. You can decide who can call you, so no worry about unwanted calls. For people who use X for business or keeping up with news, this makes life much easier. 

You can quickly go from a tweet to a direct message and then to a call, making conversations more natural and fast. Elon Musk-led company is trying to make a one-stop platform for all social needs.
