Arvind Kejriwal’s Message from Jail, through AAP leader Sanjay Singh, proclaimed, “My name is Arvind Kejriwal, and I am not a terrorist.”
In a bold assertion from the confines of Tihar Jail, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, through AAP leader Sanjay Singh, proclaimed, “My name is Arvind Kejriwal, and I am not a terrorist.” This statement comes amidst allegations that Kejriwal is being unfairly treated by the BJP-led government, with Singh accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of orchestrating a campaign to demoralize and humiliate the Delhi CM.
Singh highlighted that Kejriwal’s meetings, including with his family and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, are conducted behind a glass screen, likening it to the treatment meted out to a terrorist. Singh accused the Modi government of employing tactics like 24-hour CCTV surveillance to break Kejriwal’s spirit, emphasizing that such efforts are in vain as Kejriwal is resolute in his commitment to serve the people.
Kejriwal’s resolve remains unshaken despite the alleged mistreatment. Singh emphasized Kejriwal’s history of principled actions, including resigning from his IRS job and from the Delhi government after 49 days. Singh warned the Prime Minister that attempts to break Kejriwal would only strengthen his resolve to fight against perceived injustices.
Singh noted that Bhagwant Mann, after meeting Kejriwal in jail, was moved to tears by the treatment Kejriwal is enduring. The AAP staunchly condemned the alleged mistreatment, calling it an act of “Hitlerism” and dictatorship. Despite the challenges, Kejriwal’s commitment to the people of Delhi remains steadfast.
The AAP’s claims that Kejriwal facing health issues in jail, particularly regarding his fluctuating sugar levels, have added to the controversy. While the court has allowed Kejriwal to have home-cooked meals, the party asserts that he is not being afforded the same privileges as other prisoners, who are allowed face-to-face meetings.
The current situation underscores a broader political battle between the AAP and the central government. Kejriwal’s message of defiance from jail reflects his determination to continue serving the people of Delhi despite the challenges he faces. As the situation unfolds, the treatment of Kejriwal in jail and the political fallout surrounding it will continue to be closely watched.
