Photos of V and Jennie travelling across South Korea’s Jeju Island in May 2022 sparked the first reports of their relationship on social media. After the photos were made public, Jennie’s music label, YG Entertainment, issued the following statement: Nothing concerning the private life of our artists can be confirmed by us. Many admirers felt the photographs were Photoshopped since they featured the side profiles of the K-pop idols. But this wasn’t the first time the two had been associated. Fans of BTS and BLACKPINK erupted in December 2021 when V liked Jennie’s Instagram page, just to swiftly unfollow it again. As a member of a band and the official Instagram account of BTS, V only follows 7 individuals, it was very obvious.
