Angad Bedi Wins Gold At International Masters 2023 Athletics Championship

Angad Bedi, an actor, and athlete, has won a gold medal in the 400 metres race. The event was the Open International Masters 2023 Athletics Championship, and it took place in Dubai. 

It’s worth noting that this was Angad’s debut in an international sprinting event, and earlier this year, he had won a silver medal in a Mumbai-based sprinting tournament.

This win was even more heartfelt because Angad dedicated the gold medal to his late father, Bishan Singh Bedi. Bishan Singh was a cricket legend who passed away last week at the age of 77 after a long illness. 

Angad’s win comes as a tribute to his father, keeping alive the sporting spirit that runs in the family. He shared his emotions on his Instagram page, posting pictures from the race and some with his father. 

Angad wrote that even though his body and mind were not fully prepared, some external force helped him win. He thanked his father for being with him and expressed how much he missed him.

Apart from thanking his father, Angad also thanked his coach, Miranda Brinston, and his wife, Neha Dhupia. 

He acknowledged that there had been more bad days than good in his journey, but Miranda was there like a rock. As for Neha, he humorously said she had no choice but to tolerate him.

The win serves as Angad’s way of honoring his father’s legacy. In a press statement, Angad revealed that the victory was dedicated to his father, who always told him to let his actions speak louder than words. 

He said he ran the race because it’s what his father would have wanted. In his words, this is his way of paying tribute to his father and the values he instilled in him. 

In terms of his career, Angad was recently seen in the movie ‘Ghoomer,’ and he will be featured in upcoming projects like ‘A Legal Affair’ on Jio Cinema and ‘Hi Nanna’ alongside Mrunal Thakur.
