Andhra Pradesh CM Wants MLAs To Get To Work

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked MLAs to start meeting villagers and promoting the welfare schemes started by the government in a large way.

This is under his agenda of a two-year outreach programme. Under the leadership of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress (YSRC), in a recent Legislature Party Meeting, the CM stressed that it is the responsibility of all the MLAs to interact and address the problems of the public.

An army of volunteers are too working to provide the needed support in spreading a good word around. Directing the MLAs to take an active role in visiting villages, Mr. Reddy asked that the efforts of the volunteers must also be honoured who are working from Ugadi and have provided some exemplary service. He further told them to visit at least three to four villages every day.

On agenda from May would be for each MLA to visit atleast ten villages, ward secretariats and also every household, enquiring about their welfare. Indeed, the politician is getting the MLAs to really work towards the betterment of their constituencies.

For those who really do this work, he indicated that their names would feature in a survey that is the ticket to their entry into elections. He has also indicated the desire to see district, mandal and village committees being setup by April and regional coordinators to play a crucial role in making these committees. He said one regional coordinator would be appointed for three to four districts and there would be eight regional coordinators approximately, considering the new 26 districts.

On his agenda is also a desire to create a format of good leadership. He expects the MLAs to be able to train grassroots level leaders on how to retort the negative campaign of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and develop tactics to be able to handle the media, where at least ten members from each village should be made active.

The Chief Minister said all the schemes are being implemented with transparency and social audits are being done and there will be 31 lakh houses in Jagananna colonies.
