Anahat Singh Wins National Squash Championship, Breaks National Record

The latest sensation in Indian squash is Anahat Singh, who has just become the new women’s national squash champion. What’s truly amazing is that Anahat is only 15 years old, showcasing her extraordinary talent and determination at such a young age.

In the final of the 79th National Squash Championships, Anahat faced Tanvi Khanna, a seasoned player with considerable experience. What stood out in this match-up was the significant age difference between the two competitors.

Anahat, at 15, faced the 27-year-old Khanna, which was a 12-year age gap. Despite this, Anahat displayed confidence and skill far beyond her years.

Looking back at the recent history of this Squash Championship, we’ve seen some dominant performances. The previous two editions saw Joshna Chinappa and Tanvi Khanna as the finalists, with Chinappa coming out on top both times. However, this year, there was a change in the lineup.

Both Chinappa and Dipika Pallikal, who have been strong contenders in the past, decided not to participate in this year’s Nationals. This opened the door for new talent to shine, and Anahat Singh seized this opportunity brilliantly.

It’s worth noting that the youngest winner in the history of the Senior Nationals is still Joshna Chinappa, who won her first title at the age of 14 in the year 2000. Anahat, now the second youngest winner, is following closely in those footsteps, showing that she is a force to be reckoned with in Indian squash.
