Amrita Hospital: Asia’s Largest Hospital, Inaugurated by PM Modi

  PM Modi inaugurated Asia’s Largest Hospital – ‘Amrita Hospital’ on Wednesday. The hospital has been contributing health services for the past 25 years.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated Amrita Hospital in Faridabad, Haryana . It is believed to be the largest private multi-specialty hospital in Asia.

With the opening of this hospital spread over 130 acres, the people of Faridabad as well as the entire NCR region will be able to get state-of-the-art health facilities.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala were also present in the inauguration ceremony.

Amrita Hospital Treated 43.3 Lakh Patients ‘Free Of Cost’

Amrita Hospital established in Cochin in 1998 by Mata Amritanandamayi Devi has made extraordinary contributions in the field of health care in the last 25 years.

It is one of the leading hospitals in South Asia, providing the highest quality of treatment with 12 super specialty departments and 45 other departments.

So far more than 43.3 lakh patients have been treated free of cost in Amrita Hospital and more than 600 crores have been spent on it.

Who Has Built The Hospital?

This hospital was constructed by Mata Amritanandamayi Math on 130 acres of land in Sector 88 near Delhi-Mathura highway in Faridabad .

Its construction was started in 2016 and its total cost is Rs 6,000 crore. Rs 4,000 crore has been spent on the hospital so far and another Rs 2,000 crore will be spent on it in the next five years.

This hospital is the largest in the whole of Asia equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology.

Capacity Of The Beds In Asia’s Largest Hospital

Spread over an area of ​​about 10 million square feet, this hospital will have a total capacity of 2,600 beds, but at present it has been started with 500 beds. It will be fully operationalized in a phased manner over the next five years.

Similarly, the hospital will have 500 ICU beds, 81 specialties and eight centers of excellence.

A total of 64 fully networked modular operation theaters and 534 critical care beds will also be set up in this hospital.

8 Excellence Centers In Amrita Hospital

The eight excellence centers to be set up in the seven-storey building of this hospital will include Radiation Oncology, Cardiac Science, Neuroscience, Gastro Science, Renal Sciences, Orthopedics and Trauma, Transplantation, and Mother and Child Care Unit.

Guest House Of 498 Rooms For Patients’ Relatives

Amrita Hospital has a four star hotel, a medical college, a nursing college, a college for allied health sciences, a rehabilitation centre, a helipad on the roof of the hospital for the officers and patients and family members of the patients with many other facilities. A guesthouse with 498 rooms is also being built in the 14-storey tower for the purpose.

The hospital buildings will be spread over 36 lakh square feet, which will give it grandeur.

Cancer Hospital With 300 Beds Capacity

A cancer hospital with a capacity of 300 beds has also been built in the premises of Amrita Hospital.

It will provide the patients with modern facilities for the treatment of all types of cancer using treatment modalities like surgery, radiotherapy, medical oncology, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and bone marrow transplantation.

The hospital will act as a ‘hub’ for cancer care and treatment in the region and critical patients will be referred from the 100-bed hospital in Sangrur.

700 Doctors & 12,000 Employees

A total of 700 doctors including specialists in various diseases will work in this hospital and more than 12,000 employees will be appointed.

Here a separate ward of 300 beds will be made for the treatment of children and after that there will be a maximum number of beds for delivery work.

Similarly, one medical worker’s work station will be set up for every two patients coming to the hospital for the care of patients suffering from serious illness.

Inaugurating the hospital, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said,

“The country will progress in the medical field only with the combination of technology and modernization. 

The country has entered the elixir of independence with a new energy. I am happy that this nectar will come. 

The country is also getting the nectar of the blessings of Mata Amritanandamayi during this time. India is a country where treatment is a service and health is a charity.”
