Amit Shah Directs For Strict Action Against Communal Violence

Jahangirpuri violence on the eve of Hanuman Jayanti has led to an order of a strict action by Amit Shah, confirmed reports state. Home minister Amit Shah spoke to the top officials of Delhi Police in the case related to an incident of violence in Jahangirpuri, and directed them to take the strictest action against the accused. Shah gave clear instructions to officials that action taken against the accused must be exemplary.

All of Muslim origins, one accused has been identified while two remain in judicial custody. Four more accused who were also produced were sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

A skirmish over sloganeering led to violence in the region over the eve of Hanuman Jayanti. It seemed like a premeditated move to create disharmony. While the police stopped the violence on its tracks, the ones standing in the C Block comprising Moslems started pelting stones on the police personnel leading to violent outbreak between the Police and Moslem youth.
