Amazon To Launch AWS Asia Pacific Hyderabad Region

Amazon Web Services announced its 2nd cloud infrastructure – AWS Asia Pacific Region in Hyderabad as its 2nd Cloud Infrastructure with ₹35,997 crore investment.

In order to improve services for customers in India, cloud computing provider Amazon Web Services, Inc. has opened a second facility in India called AWS Asia Pacific (Hyderabad).

By 2030, it will have made investments totaling an estimated $4.4 billion (roughly 36,300 crore) in the nation and the surrounding area.

These investments will include capital expenditures for the building of data centers, ongoing operational costs for utilities and infrastructure costs, and purchases of merchandise and services from local companies.

During this time, the new region is expected to provide over 48,000 full-time jobs per year at outside businesses.

According to a statement made by Amazon on November 22, the jobs will be a part of the AWS supply chain in India and will involve work in the country’s broader economy as well as construction, facilities maintenance, engineering, and telecommunications.

“Starting today, developers, startups, entrepreneurs and enterprises, as well as government, education, and non-profit organizations, will have greater choice for running their applications and serving end users from data centers located in India,” the statement on the AWS Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) Region, which consists of three availability zones, said.

Customers will have access to cutting-edge AWS technologies, such as data analytics, security, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, to promote innovation.

Prasad Kalyanaraman, vice-president of Infrastructure Services at Amazon Data Services Inc., stated that “customers and partners in India will now have additional regional infrastructure to deploy applications with greater resilience, availability, and even lower latency.”

Since opening the first office in 2011, the company has been making long-term investments in the nation.

Availability zones, which place infrastructure in different and distinct geographic locations, make up AWS Regions.

AWS now has 96 such zones spread across 30 geographical regions with the most recent addition, and it has plans to introduce 15 additional zones and five additional AWS regions in Australia, Canada, Israel, New Zealand, and Thailand. In June 2016, the AWS Asia Pacific (Mumbai) Region debuted.

Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister K.T. Rama Rao welcomed the investment commitment and stated that it would strengthen Telangana’s position as an innovative data center hub in India.

We have worked with AWS to enhance e-governance, and healthcare, including municipal operations for the benefit of Telangana’s inhabitants because we recognize the power of cloud computing.

We are happy that the new AWS Region in Hyderabad will promote further innovation and growth, he added.

Rajeev Chandrashekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, stated that the “India cloud” is slated for significant growth and innovation as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s $1 trillion digital economy ambition.

An essential component of the digital ecosystem are data centers. The expansion of AWS’s data centers in India is a good move that will drive the country’s digital economy.
