The creators of “Slum Golf” unveiled a massive 35,000 square feet poster in the heart of Mumbai’s Chembur slums, where the real-life phenomenon of slum golf began. This poster reveals is quite significant as it’s the first time an OTT platform has attempted such a large-scale branding initiative in a slum area.
“Slum Golf,” inspired by true stories, features prominent actors like Sharad Kelkar, Mayur More, and Arjan Aujla in key roles. The series tells the story of a young boy named Pawan from the slums, who dreams of becoming a professional golfer. Despite his challenging circumstances, Pawan’s passion and determination drove him to pursue his dream.
Actor Mayur More has shared his experience while working on the Amazon miniTV series, “Slum Golf.” Mayur More, who plays Pawan, a young boy aspiring to be a professional golfer, shared his journey of learning golf for his role.
Despite having only 15-20 days to learn, he practiced intensely at a small sports club in Lokhandwala. He faced challenges like remembering numerous aspects of golf but managed to grasp the basics, improving his posture and body language.
His efforts paid off as he received praise for authentically portraying a pro golfer, adding to his acting skills with a new sports experience.
This series is not just a drama; it’s an inspiration. It beautifully captures the essence of dreaming big and the relentless pursuit of those dreams, irrespective of one’s background. Created by Temple Bells Films and directed by the acclaimed Sujay Dahake, known for his work in films like Shala, Ajoba, and Phuntroo, “Slum Golf” promises to be a compelling watch.
