Amazon Introduces Male Voice In Alexa, On Its 5th Anniversary

Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant device has completed 5 years in India. On this occasion, the company has integrated male voices too in the devices.

Amazon said on Thursday that users in India would be able to choose between Alexa’s original voice and a new, more masculine-sounding voice for the first time. Alexa has now been available in India for five years.

Users will be able to ask queries in English, Hindi, and Hinglish by using any of the wake words, such as Alexa, Echo, Computer, and Amazon.

Also, the business noted that in 2022, requests for music through Alexa surged by almost 53% as a result of users streaming music from services like Amazon Prime Music, Spotify, JioSaavn, and Apple Music.

The number of requests to Alexa to control smart home equipment surged by 515 percent.

The company also disclosed that users are increasingly asking Alexa queries like “Alexa, how are you” (31,680 times per day) and “Alexa, I love you” (21,600 times per day), a rise of 214% and 277%, respectively.
