Delhi Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi has been gaining a lot of limelight in the last few weeks as it managed to get the movie business roaring once again in the post-pandemic world.

Things seemed to be working fine till now but as per reports, there was some disagreement between the distributors and the makers of movies leading Reliance entertainment to take down the movie from Carnival Cinemas after an issue.

The makers officially decided to not screen the movie from November 20. The reason behind this move is the nonpayment of dues from the cinemas to the distributor’s share. They were supposed to transfer the distributor’s share to Reliance entertainment as per an agreement previously made but it did not happen.

This continued for two consecutive weeks. One of them came on Monday for the weekend collections and the other one came on Friday for collections done on weekdays but it was made clear by the Reliance that it was the fault of the Carnival chain to not have prioritised finishing the dues.

They released a statement saying that payment was due for the last four days in the first week and even after that, the chain kept on defaulting the payment for the second week and eventually led the Reliance group to finally cut the ties and stop the screening of the movie altogether.

Carnival cinemas had previously also kept the dues uncleared and interestingly it was also for Reliance entertainment. The prediction house revealed that the cinema chain owed them around Rs. 1.35 crore even before the Covid-19 pandemic hit.

When confronted about it, the two parties reached an agreement and the dues were dissolved that time with the promise to settle it later on. The movie was released in 66 carnival properties and for other screens, it had been scheduled to release. Carnival registered a total NETT collection of approx  5.44 cr. for Week 1 and approx. 1.9 cr. during Week 2.
