After being part of controversies for some time due to historical references, Akshay Kumar starrer Prithviraj gets relief from Delhi High Court.
On Monday the High Court denied entertaining any more pleas that seeked any more changes or modifications in the name of the Akshay Kumar starrer movie. The film stars Miss World Manushi Chhillar and is produced by Yash Raj Films.
The bench was headed by Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice Neena Bansal Krishna and it asserted that they have inclined towards canceling out the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that were filed to make changes in the title and concept of the upcoming big release.
As per the latest development, the court granted permission to a petition to withdraw the plea without any conditions. Their petition stated that using the name of the great king as ‘Prithviraj’ is insulting for the great emperor. The plea added that many of them want the title to be changed.
The court straight away refused from hearing any such plea. The much awaited movie is a biopic of legendary historical figure warrior king Prithviraj Chauhan.
The story essentially revolves around the popular battles he fought during his term as an emperor such as the First Battle of Tarain. The majority of the story will consist of Muhammad of Ghor. “He is a legend, he is one of the bravest warriors and he is one of the most upright kings that our country has ever seen,” he said in the press release released by the production house.
