Ajay Devgn might play Tansen in Bhansali’s next

After a cameo appearance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai, Ajay Devgn can yet again be seen working with the director for Baiju Bawra.

The movie will reportedly have Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt as the lead pair while Devgn has been approached to play Tansen’s role in the movie. This is another lead character which is in the pipeline in Bhansali’s movie.

His character is based on the mythic singer Tansen who was most notable for having a touch with god and making clouds burst with rain as he began his performance. Nothing has been confirmed as of now but the chances of Devgn playing this role seem pretty high.

A source close to the production house said that after Devgn worked with Bhansali for Gangubai after 23 years, he became all the more confident about the director.

The source also said that earlier, he was a little apprehensive about working with the director after such a long time but everything went well once they bonded on sets.

“Sanjay Leela Bhansali feels Devgn had a big hand in the success of Gangubai Kathiawadi. He wants Devgn to be part of Baiju Bawra,” the source added. They further said that the role that Devgn will be playing has shades of gray but Bhansali feels that he is the perfect fit; he has never been afraid to do what others might be afraid of.
