The Indian govt. & the income tax dept. launched an app called ‘AIS for Taxpayers’ to check TDS, interest, & other tax information.
The Annual Information Statement (AIS)/Taxpayer Information Summary (TIS) mobile app was released by the Income Tax (IT) Department to allow taxpayers to review their information as it appears there.
The application, known as “AIS for Taxpayer,” displays a thorough statement that details each of your financial transactions for a specific fiscal year.
Google Play Store and Apple App Store both offer AIS for Taxpayers for no charge. Taxpayers must register on the app by providing their PAN and authenticate with the OTP sent to their registered mobile number and email address on the e-filing portal in order to access it.
After authentication, the taxpayer can create a 4-digit PIN to access the mobile app. The app will also give taxpayers using Android and iPhone devices the option to comment on the data shown.
According to a statement from the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), “The app is intended to provide a comprehensive view of the AIS/TIS to the taxpayer and displays the information gathered from various sources pertaining to the taxpayer.”.
The taxpayers will have access to data on TDS/TCS, interest, dividends, share trades, stock transactions, mutual fund activities, tax payments, income tax refunds, and other information (GST Data, Foreign Remittances, and more).
The IT department issued a statement stating, “This is another initiative of the Income Tax Department in the area of providing enhanced taxpayer services facilitating ease of compliance.”.
