Adipurush Film Box Office Collection Crashes, Witnesses 77% Drop

Adipurush Box Office Collection: The fourth day of the release of the movie Adipurush, featuring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, saw a significant decline in box office collections. This drop in revenue coincides with a mounting backlash against the film.

Om Raut’s film Adipurush is based on the holy epic Ramayan, and has been receiving criticism since its release. The movie has been under fire for its poor-written dialogues and visual effects, among other issues. The film has reportedly had a successful opening weekend, according to sources.

The film’s first Monday collection saw a significant decline of 75 to 77 percent at the box office. The latest box office figures for the Hindi version of the film reveal that it has only managed to collect Rs 8.5 crores nett on its fourth day in theaters. The Hindi version of the film has amassed a collection of Rs 108.50 crores nett in India, thanks to its popularity among audiences.

Adipurush has made headlines on Monday as it was reported that the movie has surpassed the Rs 340 crore hit at the global box office during its opening weekend. But as audiences became aware of its poor dialogues & graphics, they started criticizing the film.

Om Raut’s latest directorial venture witnessed a massive opening day collection of Rs 140 crore. The film experienced a dip in its earnings on the second day, with a collection of Rs 100 crore on Saturday.

On Sunday, it was reported that the earnings of the movie consistently reached Rs 100 crore. The opening weekend collection of the film globally has reached Rs 340 crore.

The box office collection has witnessed a decline following the ban of all Indian movies in Kathmandu by Mayor Balen Shah in Nepal.

The ban was imposed after the movie referred to ‘Devi Sita’ as the “daughter of India,” which the mayor claims is incorrect as Sita was born in Nepal.

According to recent reports, police forces have been deployed in Nepal’s capital to prevent any theaters from screening films made in India.

The film Adipurush has been receiving criticism for its dialogues. In a pivotal scene from the movie, Lord Hanuman uttered the words “Tel tere baap ka. Aag bhi tere baap ki. Toh jalegi bhi tere baap ki.’‘ during the Lanka Dahan sequence.

These types of dialogs left a large section of the audience flared up. There are several types of such cringy dialogues in the movie.

In response to criticism, the makers of the film have issued an apology and announced plans to change the film’s dialogue.

Om Raut has directed Adipurush, an adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana. The upcoming film boasts a good cast, with Prabhas taking on the role of Raghav, Kriti portraying Janaki, and Saif playing Raavan. Additionally, Sunny Singh will appear as Shesh and Devdatta Nage as Bajrang.
