Adani Defense & Aerospace To Acquire Air Works For ₹400 Crore

The Adani Group announced that they’re going to acquire Air Works, which is one of India’s biggest MRO hubs for the aircrafts maintenance, repair & overhaul.

Definitive agreements have been reached by Adani Defense Systems & Technologies Ltd. (ADSTL) to purchase Air Works, India’s largest and most diverse independent MRO with the biggest pan-India network presence spanning 27 cities.

For important defense and aerospace platforms, Air Works has built up substantial operational capabilities across the nation.

Air Works performs base maintenance for the ATR 42/72, A320, and B737 fleet of aircraft from its EASA & DGCA-certified facilities in Mumbai, Delhi, Hosur, and Kochi, starting with the first P-8I aircraft Phase 32 checks and continuing through Phase 48 checks plus MRO on the landing gear of the Indian Air Force’s 737 VVIP aircraft.

“It is clear that the major expansion of India’s airline and airport sector lies ahead of it given the country’s growth trajectory and the government’s aim of connecting the country through a gigantic mesh of air connectivity.

Therefore, the area of service, maintenance, and overhaul is essential to both the defense and commercial aerospace industries.

What results is one of the most exciting, complete, at scale, and digital MRO services within the borders of the country,” stated Ashish Rajvanshi, the CEO of Adani Defence & Aerospace.

Add to this the current modernization effort to make India a significant market for defense aircrafts.

“Over the course of its 70-year history in aviation, Air Works has successfully completed a number of projects that were firsts for both the industry and India.

When you combine this with the competencies of the Adani Group, you get a company that accurately depicts what an Atmanirbhar Bharat in a crucial industry should be like.”

According to D Anand Bhaskar, MD & CEO of Air Works Group, “India has the capabilities to become the region’s MRO center for both civil and military aircraft.

Being integrated into the Adani Defense & Aerospace platform is a great chance for Air Works and its staff.

The government’s policy efforts, such as the unification of civil and defense MRO, would result in significant cost savings and job growth.
