One of the world’s largest consulting firms, Accenture, is now deepening its focus on the population of India. CEO of Accenture Julie Sweet said that the company will keep on hiring mainly in India to drive its technology expansion, with an emphasis on recent degrees.
During the latest investor conference call, Julie Sweet underlined India’s importance for Accenture’s talent acquisition. More than 300,000 Indians are working for the company, which is over 50% of the company’s international employees, Sweet admitted that Accenture is “recruiting mainly in India.” This hiring policy will help Accenture to sustain its technology-driven growth in FY 2025.
Accenture’s current global workforce includes 770,000 people, of which 57% are Indian. In the 2025 fiscal year, the company recruited more than 41,000 employees 24,000 of them in the last quarter of the year. This is due to the increasing need for tech professionals, especially in India to spearhead the firm’s growth.
AI investments made by Accenture are also now reaping benefits. During the year FY 2024 – 25, the company achieved $1 billion of General AI (GenAI) bookings. In addition, the new bookings of Accenture for the full year were $81 billion, and it signed 125 client engagements which were worth over $100 million each. The company has defined 310 “Diamond clients” that are its biggest and most important partners.
This success strengthens Accenture’s dedication to its global hiring strategy with India as an important location for competitive technological talent.
