AAP Leader Kejriwal Spends ₹45 Crore On Home Renovation

The Delhi CM & AAP-party head Arvind Kejriwal has spent ₹45 crore for his house renovation. The Aam Aadmi leader spent 7 lakhs for a curtain, 3 crores for marble.

Recently, reports of the Delhi chief minister’s official residence’s Rs 45 crore renovation expenses surfaced, which has led to criticism from the opposition parties. The BJP and Congress have both attacked the Aam Aadmi Party founder Arvind Kejriwal for his extravagant expenses.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra slammed Kejriwal as a “maharaj” and accused him of spending on superior and luxurious products in his residence. Patra alleged that Kejriwal offered bribes of Rs 20-50 crore to media houses to avoid highlighting the story, which was ignored by the media.

Patra cited documents that revealed the purchase of eight new curtains, with one costing over Rs 7.94 lakh, while the cheapest was Rs 3.57 lakh. He also revealed that marbles worth over Rs 1.15 crore were brought from Vietnam, and Rs 4 crore was spent on prefabricated wooden walls.

Congress leader Ajay Maken accused Kejriwal of breaking his promise of living in an ordinary house and not using cars with a red light or extra security. Maken alleged that Kejriwal spent public funds on luxurious items like Dior polish, Vietnam marble, expensive curtains, and high-end carpets.

However, Senior AAP leader Raghav Chadha defended the renovation and stated that the residence was built in 1942, and the Delhi government’s Public Works Department recommended its renovation after an audit.

The controversy highlights the growing criticism of politicians for their excessive spending on luxury items and raises questions about their commitment to serving the common man.

As per a Congress leader, Ajay Maken, there are more than 6 lakhs in Delhi currently. He raised questions about Arvind Kejriwal’s right to remain in his position as a public servant as he has failed to fulfill the urgent needs of the Delhi citizens.
