98 CPI members join BJP ahead of Kerala Assembly elections

On Tuesday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had a major boost in Kerala as 98 left party members joined the local unit of BJP ahead of the Assembly polls in the presence of Union Minister Pralhad Joshi in Thiruvananthapuram. Kerala is going to have Assembly polls in April-May 2021.

Addressing ANI news, BJP pioneer VV Rajesh affirmed the news and stated that the new members that joined the BJP offered to change over the local Communist Party of India office.

“Today, under the authority of Mukul Prabhakaran who was former Gram Panchayat president and CPI(M) member of area Committee, 98 CPI (M) members joined  BJP, and Pralhad Joshi welcomed the new members,” he added. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be attending the party’s Vijay Yathra on March 4.

“CPI(M) workers that have joined the BJP have offered their CPI party office and stated that they will surely convert the CPI(M) office to the BJP office in the coming future,” Joshi stated.

“Various Congress and CPI(M) members are in connection and they have a desire to join BJP and work with us. There is a likelihood that many CPI (M) members will join the saffron party in the subsequent days,” Joshi added.

All set to enter the political career, the technocrat E. Sreedharan also joined BJP. Sreedharan cleared that he won’t be keen on the governorship and with no power. However, I won’t be able to execute any accurate contribution to Kerala in such a state. However, he stressed that his primary aim is that BJP comes into power in the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections.
