$9 billion order by Akasa air for Boeing 737

Delhi – Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s much-awaited Akasa Air has signed a deal worth $9 billion for 72 fuel-efficient 737 MAX airplanes on Tuesday. The latest order includes 737-8 and high-capacity 737-8-200 airplanes.

The same was stressed by the CEO of Akasa Air Vinay Dube at the Dubai Airshow 2021. He said that he is glad that he could partner with Boeing for the first airplane order for which he feels deeply thankful to them.

“We believe that the new 737 MAX airplane will support our aim of running not just a cost-efficient, reliable and affordable airline, but also an environmentally friendly company with the youngest and greenest fleet in the Indian skies,” he said.

He talked about India emerging as the fastest-growing aviation market in the world. India’s very own Warren Buffett also said that the amount of potential India has in a country is unparalleled and it soon will flourish further in investment opportunities. We are already witnessing a strong recovery in air travel, and we see decades of growth ahead of us,” he further added.

Akasa Air is aiming at helping India to strengthen its growth engine and democratize air travel at the very most. This will further lead to an inclusive environment for the Indians without leaving any disparity for the background they come from, stated Jhunjhunwala. With the kind of backing the airlines has, it will establish itself as an ultra low-cost medium of travel. The official’s statement from its side also reinforced that their aim is to provide the lowest seat-mile costs a single-aisle airplane while also ensuring a competitive edge by providing the Boeing 737 MAX for the home market.
