Eight people, including six children, are currently stuck in a cable car hanging at around 1,000 feet, over a deep valley in Pakistan.
The cable broke while they were using it to go to school. The incident is happening in a remote, mountainous area in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The cable car is suspended around 1,200 feet in the air. The people inside have been hanging there for more than four hours. The area is hard to reach without a helicopter.
The cable car is hanging on a single rope in the middle of a deep valley surrounded by mountains. This type of cable car is commonly used to connect far-off villages.
Syed Hammad Haider, an officer of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, told, that they have requested the KO government to provide a helicopter as they can’t reach there without it.
A helicopter from the Pakistan Army is expected to come and help, but it hasn’t arrived yet. The situation is risky because of the height and location.
Officials say there are six children and two adults inside the cable car. They are trapped at a height of at least 900 feet.
To rescue them, they need a helicopter because the area is remote and dangerous. The rescue team has requested help from the government to provide a helicopter for the operation.
