7th Technical Fault In SpiceJet Airlines, Alternate Plane Sent

Several recent flights of SpiceJet were delayed or canceled due to technical issues. There have been 7 instances of technical problems with SpiceJet aircraft in the past 17 days.

138 passengers of the Delhi-Dubai SpiceJet flight finally boarded an alternative flight to the UAE on Tuesday night after spending nearly 11 hours delayed in Karachi.

Due to a malfunctioning fuel indicator, SpiceJet’s Boeing 737 MAX aircraft made an unexpected landing at Karachi airport on Tuesday morning.

The pilots of the airplane had warning signs of a potential fuel leak from a tank on one of the wings.

SpiceJet sent a different flight from Mumbai to Dubai to transport the passengers after this event.

The crew detected an unexpected reduction in fuel supply, according to the aviation watchdog, Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

In other words, the aircraft was losing gasoline unexpectedly, according to the fuel display in the cockpit.

The pilot had to land in Karachi as a result, however it was a cautious landing rather than an emergency.

Statement from Spicejet Airlines

An airline spokesperson said,

“On July 5, 2022, SpiceJet B737 aircraft operating flight SG-11 (Delhi – Dubai) was diverted to Karachi due to an indicator light malfunction.

The aircraft was in Karachi. Landed safely and passengers disembarked safely. No emergency was declared and the plane made a normal landing.

There was no prior report of any malfunction in the aircraft. Refreshments have been served to the passengers.”

SpiceJet Alternate Aircraft

SpiceJet sent an alternate aircraft SG 9911 from Mumbai to receive the 138 passengers to Dubai, which took off at around 9:20 pm. An official told the media,

“Obviously there was a problem with the light indicator of the aircraft and it could not be repaired immediately and it was not approved by the engineers, so another plane was flown from Mumbai.”

7th Incident of Technical Fault In Last 17 Days

In the previous 17 days, there have been at least seven incidents of technical problems with SpiceJet aircraft.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), according to officials, is looking into the accidents that happened on Tuesday as well as the previous five.
