72 Hoorain: Director Gets Death Threats, CBFC Refuses Its Certification

The upcoming Indian film “72 Hoorain” is about a group of young Muslim men who are recruited by a terrorist organization. The organization promises them that if they carry out a suicide attack, they will be rewarded with 72 Hoorain (Virgin Angels) in heaven.

The men are brainwashed into believing this, and they carry out the attack. However, they soon realize that the promise of 72 Hoorain was a lie, and they are left to face the consequences of their actions.

The film has been surrounded by controversy and faced criticism from certain religious leaders and political figures even before its release.

Directed by National Award-winner, Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, the movie aims to expose the dark face of Islamic terrorism from events like 9/11 to the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai.

Despite the good plot and campaign against terrorism, the film has received backlash, with some Muslim leaders and organizations demanding a ban on its release.

The director, Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, has been subjected to threats and abusive messages on social media platforms.

In the days leading up to the movie’s release, he received numerous messages containing explicit language and personal attacks.

Some individuals even issued rape threats against the director’s mother. In response to the harassment, the comment section of the movie’s social media posts was turned off.

The controversy surrounding “72 Hoorain” also involves the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), as the movie’s trailer was denied certification.

The makers of the film expressed disappointment and questioned the CBFC’s decision. The CBFC later issued a clarification regarding the certification issue.

Despite the controversies, “72 Hoorain” is highly anticipated by the audience. According to IMDb, the movie is currently the most anticipated film based on real-time popularity.

It stars Pavan Malhotra and Ameer Bashir in lead roles and will be released in English and 10 other Indian languages.

Amidst the controversies, the makers of “72 Hoorain” have announced a special screening of the film at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi.

The screening aims to reach out to educational institutions and raise awareness about terrorism among the younger generation.

The film is said to be a powerful exploration of the themes of brainwash, radicalization, terrorism, and the manipulation of religious beliefs.

It is sure to be a controversial film, but it is also likely to be an important one. The film is based on real-life events.
