All of us have been eagerly waiting for the 5G services for a long time. Today, our dream came true as 5G services have been launched today in India.
At Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the 6th India Mobile Congress (IMC) and premiered 5G services.
PM Modi visited the exhibition there and met with a number of service provider officials, including Akash Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio.
The IMC 2022 will take place from October 1 through October 4 with the theme “New digital Universe.”
It will bring together top academics, businesspeople, inventors, and representatives of the government to examine and highlight the unusual prospects brought about by the quick uptake and dissemination of digital technology.
A record-breaking Rs 1.5 lakh crore worth of bids were submitted for India’s most recent telecom spectrum auction, with Mukesh Ambani’s Jio winning nearly half of the airwaves auctioned with a Rs 88,078 crore offer.
Bharti Airtel, owned by Sunil Bharti Mittal, placed a winning bid of ₹ 43,084 crore, and Vodafone Idea Ltd. purchased spectrum for ₹ 18,799 crore.
The company led by Gautam Adani, whose participation in the auction was seen by some as adding to the tension in their conflict with Mukesh Ambani, purchased ₹ 212 crore for 400 MHz. The 26 GHz band of spectrum was purchased by Adani Group.

PM Modi spent time learning about the homegrown development of end-to-end 5G technology, accompanied by Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw with businessmen Mukesh Ambani of Reliance, Sunil Bharti Mittal of Bharti Airtel, and Kumar Mangalam Birla of Vodafone Idea.
After that, the PM went to the kiosks of Airtel, Vodafone Idea, C-DOT, and other companies.
Speaking at the introduction of 5G services Mukesh Ambani applauded Prime Minister Modi for making it a reality.
He said that the gap between rural and urban India has been bridged by 5G. By December 2023, according to Mukesh Ambani, Jio will roll out 5G telephony services throughout India.
Sunil Bharti Mittal, Bharti Enterprises founder-chairman said,
“It’s an important day. A new era is about to begin. This beginning is taking place in the 75th year of independence & will begin a new awareness,energy in the country. It’ll open several new opportunities for people.”
Bharti Airtel also declared that it would launch its 5G network in October 2022, with a pan-India rollout expected to be finished in early 2024.
