2) Majuli, Assam

Majuli located amidst the Brahmaputra river is recognised as the world’s largest freshwater island. The people here are largely self-sufficient and spend their time farming, fishing, or constructing houses from bamboo.

3) Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh

Pronounced as ‘Dawang’, Tawang is one of the most picturesque settings in Arunachal Pradesh. It is home to the second-largest monastery in the world and the largest in India – The Tawang Monastery. Highly unexplored but breathtakingly beautiful Nuranang Falls is also definitely unmissable.
