The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the dates for upcoming assembly elections in five states: Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Mizoram.
The voting will take place on 7th November 2023, and the counting of votes will be on 3rd December 2023.
The Chief Election Commissioner has consulted with political parties and enforcement agencies to prepare for the elections. Here are the election dates for each state:
The total number of voters is estimated to be 8.2 crore males, 7.8 crore females, and 60.2 lakh first-time voters.
There will be 177,000 polling stations set up across the five states, and webcasting facilities will be available at 101,000 booths to ensure transparency.

The ECI has instructed poll observers to be visible, accessible, neutral, and ethical in their functioning. They are responsible for ensuring a level playing field and conducting free and fair elections.
The ECI is also focusing on inclusivity by facilitating voting for persons with disabilities, senior citizens above 80 years, and vulnerable tribal groups. Special provisions such as home voting and accessible polling stations will be provided.
