The GOP Debate is a big discussion where leaders from the Republican Party of America talk about important topics before an election. It’s like a competition where each leader explains their plans and opinions to show they are the best choice for President.
They talk about many issues like how to run the country, what to do about big problems in the world, and how to keep America safe. People watch these debates to understand each leader’s ideas better so they can decide whom to support when it’s time to vote.
In the latest update from the United States, the third GOP debate among the Republican Party’s candidates was quite the event. They had a common discussion of getting rid of China.
The key points they argued about centered on their views about former President Donald Trump, the Chinese social media app TikTok, and how to handle the situation with Hamas and Israel.
The candidates mainly discussed whether they should continue supporting Donald Trump or move on. Most of them seem to agree on a message: “Dump Trump.”
This means they think it’s time the party chooses someone else to lead in the next presidential election. They feel Trump was right for a previous time but now the party needs to look ahead.
All candidates also agreed that TikTok should be banned in America. They are worried because they believe TikTok could be used by China to spy and also because they think it spreads harmful ideas, like antisemitism, which is a hatred towards Jewish people.
The candidates feel strongly about keeping their country’s data safe and protecting their citizens from harmful influences.
When it came to the serious matter of the conflict between Israel and the terrorist group Hamas, the candidates stood united in their support for Israel. They spoke against antisemitism and suggested that Israel should take strong actions against Hamas.
They agreed on the point that the actions against Hamas, which is recognized by many countries, including India and the United States, as a terrorist organization, should be decisive.
The debate also had some heated moments where candidates personally attacked each other. Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy had a sharp exchange of words.

Ramaswamy tried to call out Haley for criticizing TikTok while her own family members used it, but Haley hit back calling him “scum.” Ramaswamy then remarked comparing Haley to Dick Cheney, which was a jab at her foreign policy stance.
The moderators who led the debate were part of the NBC News team at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami. They were the ones steering the discussion, asking questions, and making sure each candidate had a chance to speak.
