250 special trains will be operated by Indian Railways for Chhath Puja

For the forthcoming Chhath Puja, the Center has begun operating more than 250 special trains, according to Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

“We have started around 250 trains for Chhath Puja. There are approximately 1.4 lakh open slots, and we shall take every required action to help the populace “said Ashwini Viashnaw.

Notably, Indian Railways is operating 2,561 journeys of 211 special trains (in pairs) until Chhath Puja this year to handle the increased passenger demand during the current holiday season.

He said that he also wished the Chhath Puja well.

The Union Minister concluded, “I wish everyone a very joyful and prosperous Chhath Puja. During the event, which is observed between October 28 and October 31 this year, they worship the Sun God.

The Indian Railways will operate an additional 32 special services, according to a statement made public earlier this month by the Ministry of Railways, to ensure that passengers have a smooth and enjoyable journey during this festive season.

Major rail routes around the nation, including those to Darbhanga, Azamgarh, Saharsa, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Firozpur, Patna, Katihar, and Amritsar, among others, have been planned for special trains. According to an earlier Ministry statement, “May I Help You” booths are maintained open at key stations with RPF personnel and TTEs stationed there to provide passengers with the required aid and direction. At big stations, medical teams are on call. The paramedical team and ambulance are both available.

Earlier on Tuesday, Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, made a request to the Centre to arrange special trains for Chhath Puja for people who wanted to travel to their hometowns for the festival.

Bihar requested special trains for Chhath Puja from the railway ministry.

According to a Hindi-language official press release, “The chief secretary of Bihar spoke to senior officials of the Ministry of Railways over the phone on the directives of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to enhance the number of special trains in view of Chhath Mahaparv.

“Bihar’s most significant celebration is Chath Mahaparv. Many Biharis who reside outside of Bihar come back to the state to attend the Mahaparv, according to the Chief Secretary.

Any irregularities, such as seat cornering, excessive pricing, and hawking activity, are closely observed. Queues are formed at the terminus stations under the supervision of RPF officials as part of crowd control procedures to ensure that passengers enter unreserved carriages in a timely manner.

One of the most blessed festivals in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Eastern Uttar Pradesh is Chhath Puja. The ceremony of “Nahai Khai” marks the beginning of the four-day festival, which concludes with “Usha Arghya” (prayers to the rising sun).

During the event, which is observed between October 28 and October 31 this year, they worship the Sun God. The celebration honours Surya Bhagwan (the Sun God), who is regarded as the source of all life on Earth.
