141 MPs Suspended From Parliament, Know The Actual Reason

A large number of Members of Parliament (MPs) have been suspended in the parliament. In total, 95 MPs from the Lok Sabha and 46 from the Rajya Sabha have faced suspension. This is a notable incident in the history of Indian democracy as well as the Parliament of India.

Among the suspended MPs, some prominent figures from the Lok Sabha include Supriya Sule, Farooq Abdullah, Shashi Tharoor, Karti Chidambaram, and Dimple Yadav. In the Rajya Sabha, notable politicians like Jairam Ramesh, KC Venugopal, and Randeep Singh Surjewala were suspended.

Why Did 141 MPs Get Suspended?

Now, let’s focus on why these suspensions occurred, which is a key aspect of this situation. Some MPs did mimicry of the Chairman and the Speaker of the House. However, the primary reason for the suspension of these MPs is not mimicry, but rather what is described as ‘unruly behaviour’ and disruption of parliamentary proceedings.

This disruption involved bringing placards (kind of banner boards) into the House and raising slogans. These actions were in response to a demand for a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah concerning a recent security breach in the Parliament.

This series of events highlights a tense standoff between the government and the opposition in Parliament. The opposition members were actively protesting and demanding an inquiry into the Parliament security breach.

Their demand was okay, but the way they protested and made a ruckus was not aligned with the laws and regulations at all. It was a complete dishonor to the dignity of the Parliament.

Their method of protest, which included bringing placards and raising slogans, was seen as a violation of the parliamentary rules and decorum. As a result, these MPs were suspended for what was deemed misconduct and failure to comply with the directives of the Chair.

141 MPs Suspension: Right And Wrong?

It’s important to understand that this situation reflects a complex interplay of democratic processes, parliamentary norms, and political strategies. Thus there might be different perspectives for this.

Such incidents often lead to heated debates about the balance between maintaining order in parliamentary proceedings and allowing MPs to express dissent or rampage against the ruling government.

What Should Be Done And Act?

The security breach in Parliament was indeed a serious incident, and it should be thoroughly investigated. All necessary investigations are being conducted, including capturing some small rackets and accused individuals. The security in Parliament is also heightened.

However, this isn’t a problem specific to any one political party, and it’s not right to blame a single party and create a commotion about it.

All political parties and leaders should work together to find a solution, as this is a matter of national security. We must remember that the days are gone when breaking chairs in Parliament and attacking each other were ways to get things done. Parliament is a very important place for the country, where discussions should happen, not ruckus.
