The first stage of the Khelo India junior women’s swimming challenge series will begin on August 20 and 21 in five Indian Zonal venues.
For the Junior (U-18) and Youth (U-15) categories for girls, a Swimming Zonal Competition of this magnitude is being staged for the first time.
850 swimmers will compete in several competitions. Events including the 100-meters and 200-meters freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and individual medley will feature the young swimmers in action.
The five Zones of Khelo India Junior Women’s Swimming Challenge Series are New Delhi, Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Bangalore (Karnataka), Hoshangabad (Madhya Pradesh), and Kolkata (West Bengal).
The Sports Ministry has authorized a sum of ₹1.02 Crore under the Khelo India scheme for the Swimming Federation of India (SFI) to conduct this series.
