UAE Projects Renewables Partnerships With India: Cop28 President

The UAE Cop28 President Al Jaber addressed the World Sustainable Development Summit in New Delhi and projected the vision of clean energy in the next 7 years.
United Arab Emirates (UAE) climate ambassador and nominated president of the COP28 conference stated on Wednesday that UAE will investigate all partnership prospects with India to support the south Asian nation’s growth and low carbon aspirations.
The COP28 climate meeting, which will take place in Dubai between November 30 and December 12, is being hosted this year by the UAE, a significant OPEC oil exporter. It will become the second Arab nation to do so, following Egypt in 2022.
World Sustainable Development Summit
The historic Paris Agreement to prevent global warming was signed in 2015, and the COP28 climate summit meeting will be the first international evaluation of progress since then.
Jaber reaffirmed on Wednesday that he will preserve the summit’s main focus on keeping global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius. The objective of preserving 1.5 is indisputable, he declared.
500 GW of Clean Energy In 7 Years
At the International Sustainable Development Conference in New Delhi, Sultan al-Jaber said, “India’s objective of generating 500 gigawatts of clean energy over the next seven years is a tremendous statement of will.
The UAE, one of the biggest investors in renewable energy, would look into all possible joint venture prospects with India.
Strong Partnership For Renewable Energy
The Paris Agreement pledges nations to keep the increase in the average global temperature well below 2 degrees Celsius and to strive for 1.5 degrees Celsius, which, according to scientists, might trigger much more catastrophic climate change effects.
Jaber will influence the conference’s agenda and international negotiations in his capacity as COP28 president.
UAE Cop28 President Statements
At the meeting, the president of the UAE’s COP28 organization lauded the collaborations between the UAE and India.
He also serves as the head of ADNOC, the state-owned oil company of the United Arab Emirates. His appointment has increased activist worries that big business is sabotaging efforts to combat global warming.
In the weeks leading up to COP28, Jaber promised to keep listening to everyone and interacting with them, especially members of civil society and the business community.
Let’s keep in mind that cooperation, not polarization, is how the world advances, he remarked.
