Sisodia Takes Strong Stance Against Corrupt OSD
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of Delhi is extremely serious about its stance of corruption and the deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has made it clear in his public statement to the media recently. He was referring to the former Officer on Special Duty (OSD) who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation in a bribery case of Rs.2 lakh.
Strangely, the officer was serving in Mr. Sisodia’s office itself and his action has angered the boss who said that his party stands by the policy of ‘zero tolerance for corruption’. Further, Sisodia has demanded that the CBI take the strictest action against anyone who indulges in corrupt practices.
He made his declaration public via a tweet where he said, ““I have come to know that the CBI has arrested a GST inspector taking bribe. This officer was also posted in my office as OSD. The CBI should immediately punish him severely. I have got many such corrupt officials caught in the last 5 years.”
This year has been a rough one for AAP that has been embroiled in one controversy or the other, preventing it to concentrate its efforts fully towards the 2020 elections. On the flipside, it is rather strange that an officer was taking bribes, right under the nose of the deputy chief minister, who did mention in another public statement that “I have around 10-12 such OSD working under me. But I have not met this one personally. Had I known of this, I would dealt with him deemed correct for such behaviour. We have not ever spared our own minister and have worked alongside CBI to nab such unscrupulous individuals in the past.”
